Do you have a specific deadline or unique circumstances on your commercial painting project? Prepare yourself and your business in advance. This is how…

To accurately estimate a painting project, first of all, you will need to identify and break things down into the smallest increment. For example a wall – what does it take to paint a wall? We know that it is necessary to cover items,  to tape, etc. Then, you must select the areas that require work, and know the square footage of the area(s) that will be painted and the distinctive variables. By variables I mean the number of colors, the labor hours that it will take to complete the job, and how much paint it will take. Of course, there is more to consider such as that one of the clients is that are unable to relocate the furniture and needs the painter to move the furniture as part of the project.

As a client, you will need to know the right square footage of the areas that you need to be painted, and get a price based on that. Second, you will need to discuss the prices for the different variables that come into play.

As a painter, you’ll need to be able to pay attention to all the details and appraise them according to your competition and company cost.
